Periodontics

Periodontics involves treating the gums surrounding your teeth. Periodontal disease, or more commonly referred to as gum disease, is a serious condition that leads to tooth decay or loss.

This is a common problem when plaque is allowed to build up from lack of brushing and flossing. Signs of periodontal disease include bleeding, swollen, and sensitive gums; receding gums; sensitive or loose teeth; and chronic bad breath.

What Happens at an Appointment

Thankfully, gum disease is treatable and preventable. If it is found you do have periodontal disease, a dentist will discuss various treatment options to stop the spread of it in its tracks. You’ll be on your way back to health in no time.
