Wisdom teeth are molars in the far, four corners of your mouth. They emerge between the ages of 17 and 25. Sometimes the teeth become impacted, meaning they fail to emerge because there may not be enough room for them to emerge.
Other times, wisdom teeth need to be extracted because of infection, decay, gum disease, or bone loss.
What Happens at an Appointment
X-rays will be taken to get a closer look at the teeth. If you are needing a wisdom tooth extraction, a mild anesthesia will be administered to ensure a pain-free procedure. An oral surgeon will remove the tooth. After-care instructions will be given and a follow-up appointment scheduled if needed. If you are having any problems with your wisdom teeth, call our office at 905-332-5004 to book a consultation.
